- Our $3K Thursday Tournaments are going to run a little differently on March 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th and April 2nd in preparation for the Emerald Coast Spring Classic scheduled from April 11th - 19th.
- In each of these tournaments, $1,200 in Emerald Coast Vouchers (ECV) and $2,000 cash will be guaranteed. As usual, all cash buy-ins and re-entries will be added directly to the prize pool.
- The Top 4 places in each March Madness $3K will receive $200 in ECV, and 5th-8th will receive $100 in ECV. All cash in the tournaments will be divided according to our tournament payout structure.
- Points will be awarded to everyone who cashes in those tournaments.
- There will be a total of 100 points for every entry into the tournament. For example, if there are 112 entries, there will be a total of 11,200 points distributed in the same fashion as Player of the Year points.
- At the end of the 5 tournaments, the top 16 point holders will form the 2015 March Madness Sweet 16 field.
- Our Heads-Up Championship will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday April 4th, and will distribute another $2,100 in prizes.
- Champion : $500 ECV & $500 Cash
- Runner-Up: $300 ECV & $300 Cash
- 3rd & 4th Place: $200 ECV & $50 Cash
- Seeding for the tournament will be based on point totals.
- The higher seed in each match will begin with the button.
- The winner in every round will be determined by chip count at the end of “Regulation”. Of course, if a player is knocked out, they are out of the competition, and the remaining player will advance.
- Blinds and Structure will run as follows
- Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds
- 100,000 starting chips
- Two 10 minute blind levels for Regulation
- 500 and 1,000 & 1,000 and 2,000
- Final 4 and Championship rounds
- 200,000 starting chips
- Two 20 minute blind levels for Regulation
- 500 and 1,000 & 1,000 and 2,000
- There will be a 5 minute Halftime break in these rounds.
- In the event of a tie at the end of Regulation, there will be an Overtime.
- A 5 minute break will occur at the end of Regulation.
- One untimed blind level for Overtime
- 2,500 and 5,000 with a 1,000 ante
- Play will continue until one player remains.
- Since this is a very unique time-based structure, we are implementing a 25-second “Shot Clock” when a clock call is made. If the Shot Clock expires without action continuing, the hand is dead, as in normal clock calls.
- However, clock calls cannot be made without a reasonable amount of time has already taken place. For the Championship, at least 10 seconds should elapse prior to a clock call.
- Unsportsmanlike activity will not be tolerated. Penalties will be given in the event of foul play or unsportsmanlike conduct.
- In the event of a penalty, instead of making a player sit out for a few rounds, as is typical, penalties will be meted in chip transfers.
- There are 3 penalty levels: 2 Big Blinds, 5 Big Blinds, & Disqualification.
