Greyhound Racing Terms

Need a refresher on all of the terms used during the exciting Greyhound Races at Ebro?  Here's the full list so you can make the most out of your trip to the races!

 WIN
The first greyhound to cross the finish line WINS. If you bet on any greyhound to win, you collect if your selection finishes first. Minimum Bet: $2.

PLACE
The second greyhound to cross the finish line PLACES. If you wager on a greyhound to place, you collect if your greyhound finishes either 1st  or 2nd. Minimum  Bet: $2

SHOW
The 3rd greyhound to cross the finish line SHOWS. If you wager on a greyhound to show, you collect if your greyhound finishes either 1st, 2nd,  or 3rd.  Minimum Bet: $2

DAILY DOUBLE
Pick winners of 1st  & 2nd races prior  to start of 1st  race. Minimum Bet: $2

QUINIELA
Quiniela wagering on all races. Select two greyhounds. You win if your selection finishes 1st  & 2nd,  IN ANY ORDER. MINIMUM: $2.

QUINIELA BOX
Select three greyhounds, and if two of your three greyhounds finish 1st  & 2nd, IN ANY ORDER, you win.

This  is actually three $2 bets. Cost: $6
4-greyhound box (6 combinations): $12
5-greyhound box (10 combinations): $20
6-greyhound box (15 combinations): $30

QUINIELA WHEEL
Select greyhound you feel will finish 1st  or 2nd. You receive this selection with ALL OTHER possibilities. In an eight-greyhound race  this bet comprises seven $2 bets. Cost: $14

QUINIELA KEY
Select one greyhound with two others. You win when your key greyhound and ONE of the other two finishes first and second. Cost: $4

Key 1 greyhound with 3 others (3 combinations): $6
Key 1 greyhound with 4 others (4 combinations): $8
Key 1 greyhound with 5 others (5 combinations): $10

TRIFECTA
Trifecta wagering on all races. Select three greyhounds to finish 1st, 2nd,  3rd in EXACT order. You win when greyhounds finish in EXACT order you selected. Minimum  Bet: $2

$1 TRIFECTA KEY
If you like a greyhound to win with two others finishing second and third, IN EITHER ORDER. Cost $1apiece or $2. Minimum Bet: $2. You collect $1 tri price.

Key 1greyhound with 3 others (6 combinations): $6
Key 1greyhound with 4 others (12 combinations): $12

$1 TRIFECTA BOX
Pick three greyhounds. This wager covers six combinations (using same three greyhounds) for $1apiece for $6 total. You win when your selections finish 1st, 2nd or  3rd, IN ANY ORDER.

Minimum Cost: $6. You collect $1 trifecta price.
4-greyhound box (24 combinations): $24
5-greyhound box (60 combinations): $60

$1 TRIFECTA WHEEL
Select the greyhound you feel is going to win and play it with ALL OTHER possible combinations. You get 42 different combina­ tions for $1apiece. Cost: $42.  NOTE: you may also select a greyhound for place or show as well as win, but they  must finish in position you selected. You win when your key greyhound finishes in position you selected. You collect  the $1 trifecta price.

$1 TRIFECTA RUNDOWN
Select two greyhounds in exact positions and you receive them with remaining 6 combinations for $6.
Example: 1-2-all = $6or 1-all-2  = $6 or all-1-2 = $6. You collect $1 trifecta price.

SUPERFECTA
Select first four finishers in exact order. Minimum  Bet: $2. Payoff based on $1 wager.

$1 SUPERFECTA KEY
If you like one greyhound to win and three others finishing second, third and fourth, IN ANY ORDER. Example: 1with 2, 3, 4. Cost: $1apiece, six combinations, or $6 total cost.

Key 1greyhound with 4 others (24 combinations): $24
Key 1greyhound with 5 others (60 combinations): $60

$1 SUPERFECTA BOX
Pick four gre"yhounds. This wager covers 24 combinations (using same four greyhounds) for $1 a piece or $24 total cost.
5-greyhound box (120 combinations): $120
6-greyhound box (360 combinations): $360

$1 TRI/SUPER
-Pick trifecta in first half. Exchange winning tri ticket(s) for payoff and superfecta ticket: in second half. Must make 2nd half selection prior to off time of the 2nd half race. Minimum Bet: $1. Payoff based on $1 wager.

DON'T FORGET to check all ticket purchases and count  your change before you leave the mutuel windows. Never destroy or toss away a ticket until race results are  posted OFFICIAL on the odds board.
